Telling stories about fun
Owner of Danu Aquatics, Elizabeth Coberly has spent years researching leisure communities and value transmission. With a background in both recreation and folklore, she says her passion is studying the stories people tell about what they do in their free time. She holds degrees from the University of Virginia, the University of Toledo, and George Mason University.
Relationships with the National Swimming Pool Foundation, the American Red Cross, and the American Heart Association have allowed Elizabeth to offer training opportunities throughout the Shenandoah Valley. To learn more about her course offerings, visit www.danuaquatics.com.
Current
Research
One of the most exciting projects Elizabeth is researching is the impact of children's nature education on their adult behavior. An academic survey is currently open to the public. If you attended Nature Camp or participated in a similar experience through scouting, family recreation, or youth camp; you are invited to participate. This research is being conducted in cooperation with George Mason University through the School of Recreation Health & Tourism. Click on any of the buttons below to find out more.
